Dr. Irena Namayra Nayfeld
Psychologist Gone Wild
You are not the stories you've inherited.
You are not doomed, stuck, or broken.
You are whole, wise, and wild.
Your soul remembers. Your body knows the way.

Have you been good, polite, productive?
Have you shut down your sensitive nature, your need to flow, feel, play, be free?
Have you suppressed your intuition, your voice, your wild?

Has it been making you sick?

I know. I did it too.

I spent many years living in my head, playing out roles and stories I didn't even know I had inherited:
Immigrant, good daughter, A student, independent woman, researcher, educator, people pleaser, world saver...it is what I was taught to become, so I became.

And yet. While others praised my work and my life, I felt broken, disconnected, and stuck.

Perhaps you can relate?
After almost a decade of chronic pain, I began to listen to my body instead of trying to fix it. I recognized all of the ways I had supressed my own emotions, needs, and authentic essence.
When we suppress who we are and what we feel, our mind finds a way to rebel - often through chronic illness, depression, anxiety, burn out, and feeling like you are living a life that is not yours.

The good news is, your true self is always there, and it is never too late.
Connecting to my body led me back to parts of myself I never had permission to express. It led me to healing wounds both personal and generational, opening up from within, and reclaiming my wholeness, my inuitive wisdom, and my wild soul.

The systems would have us forget. Capitalism, racism, patriarchy; they depend on our disconnection from our inner power and sovereignty, from each other's humanity, and from the natural world.
"The freer we become inside ourselves, the freer our world will be." - Andrea Gibson, poet.

For many years, I navigated this path on my own. I feel deeply called to serve as a guide so that you don't have to.

If you are looking to reconnect with, and embody, your wholeness and your freedom, it would be my honor to walk this path with you.
Work with Me
My individual sessions, workshops, and group programs are trauma-informed, embodied, and experiental. Creating space for your own knowing to lead, we remember your body's wisdom, reconnect with your wholeness, and reclaim your wild.

In addition to self-connection, I am inspired by creating soul-nurturing spaces where people build community, connecting deeply to each other, and to the natural world.

Embodied Liberation
Individual Sessions
Your true nature and your wholeness are your gifts. And they are waiting for you.

My individual sessions are for those seeking to reconnect with the wisdom of their body, the wholeness of their humanity, and the wild of their soul.

Together, we:

Work with your body's intelligence to release somatic and energetic blocks that hold conditioning, old stories, and traumatic wounding.

Reconnect with suppressed or unacknowledged parts of self, finding flow and rooting in wholeness.

Reclaim your wild, powerful life force, learning to embody this aspect of you and living from that space.

Sessions are offered in person (Hudson Valley, NY) or virtually. While I often work with women, immigrants/1st gen, and with LGBTQIA+ community, humans of all genders and identities for whom this resonates are whole heartedly welcome. For more information, contact me.

Workshops & Group Programs
My virtual and in person workshops, classes, and group programs are a space for self-connection and healing in community.

Participants are guided through meditation, poetry, somatic practice, and reflection to notice where they have abandoned themselves and to reclaim those aspects, transforming how they experience and express themselves.

Popular workshop topics include:
-
Whole, Wise, & Wild: Human Development from the Inside Out
-
Liberation through Movement and Poetry
-
Embodied Self-connection and Empowerment for all Women

Remember your Magic: Empowerment for Highly Sensitive Humans (HSPs)

My practice weaves approaches to human development and healing based in evidence-based psychology, trauma-informed somatics, embodied coaching, mythopoetic imagery, and inuition. My intention is always to listen deeply and create a space that allows the participants' inner intelligence to lead.

I also offer consultation and requested workshops at the intersection of whole human development and embodied healing for organizations seeking to create more humanity-affirming, soul-nurturing, liberatory spaces.

Rooted & Free
Guided Forest Therapy
We are meant to live in connection with the natural world.

More and more people are feeling the strains of living in urban environments and are finding themselves craving the healing that comes with time among trees, rivers, and beings that call the forest home.

Forest Bathing, or Forest Therapy, is an evidence-based, intentional, mindfulness practice that improves physical and emotional health, increases inuition and creativity, and nurtures soul.
Through guided invitations, personal exploration, and shared reflection, you slow down, drop into the heart, and reconnect with yourself, others, and the natural world.
